<p>The VFW Events app is tailored for attendees of the VFW’s Legislative Conference and National Convention, providing crucial notifications and reminders throughout the events. It offers immediate access to the daily agenda and an opportunity to network with fellow participants. Since 1949, the VFW's annual Legislative Conference has served as a platform for VFW leaders from each state to personally advocate for veterans' interests with their respective lawmakers. The current Commander-in-Chief of the VFW testifies before the House and Senate Veterans' Affairs Committees on veterans' behalf during this gathering. Noteworthy guest speakers address conference delegates, and the prestigious VFW Congressional Award has been bestowed annually since 1964 on a sitting member of Congress for their significant legislative contributions in support of veterans. The Voice of Democracy and Patriot's Pen scholarship contests unveil their winners at the event, where national champions present their winning essays to conference attendees and receive their awards. Drawing in thousands of VFW and Auxiliary delegates annually to represent the organization’s substantial membership of nearly 1.6 million, the weeklong convention aims to define new national priorities. These priorities guide the organization's lobbying efforts with Congress on vital issues concerning veterans, service members, and their families. The convention also encompasses leadership elections, alongside special recognition of individuals and organizations for their steadfast support of veterans and military personnel.</p>
